Overview
General responsibilities for managing facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering projects to ensure safe completion on time, within scope and budget. Responsible for delivering the project per its contracted scope, monitoring progress against the plan, troubleshooting operational issues, and minimizing delays. May manage resources, scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and interactions with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors. Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate status to the project team and client. Sets priorities, assigns tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet targets and milestones. May communicate with the client to deliver work products to their satisfaction and coordinates with APR to ensure engagement at critical junctures. Involves approving invoices, preparing change orders, and collections. Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of a small to medium sized project. Work with client or NAM to define project scope, schedule and budget. Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing the project. Lead safety efforts including preparation and compliance with the approved safety plan. Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project, including preparing calculations, designs, reports and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Coordinate with APR to ensure appropriate oversight and sufficient time for reviews at critical junctures. Coordinate with accounting for financial management, invoicing and collections. Develop understanding of project-related risk and be familiar with risk policies. Lead safety efforts for the team and promote a safe work environment with pre-task planning. Ensure continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects and maintain quality standards in project and proposal delivery; engage APRs on projects at their onset. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related technical discipline, or a minimum of 5 years’ related experience; or 9 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree. Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history. Preferred Certifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to services and projects. About Terracon
