The Project Manager position is non-exempt for technical teams (calibration service teams) and exempt for non-technical teams (Consulting and Commissioning teams). This position reports directly to the Team Manager or Director, depending on the organizational structure. Travel may be required up to 50% depending on project scope. Expectations: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring client onsite regulatory requirements, such as GMP gowning, safety training, and contractor training, are met. Project services include calibrations, documentation processing, travel arrangements, coordinating third-party services, scheduling, and maintaining PCI client/project files according to company procedures. The Project Manager is expected to mentor new hires and may have performance management and quality assurance responsibilities based on the team or regional structure. Effective communication with management and clients is essential. They are also expected to develop and report on project metrics, including financial, calibration, and labor data. Project Managers oversee onsite service delivery contracts and initiate project development for new and existing PCI clients. Responsibilities/Assignments: Manage PCI client project teams and provide high-level technical expertise. Assess safety concerns proactively and ensure compliance with safety requirements. Plan resources, define project objectives, and structure activities. Schedule and control project activities, maintaining communication to meet client needs. Develop and implement integrated project plans aligned with strategy. Lead high-performance project teams and serve as project advocate. Lead risk management initiatives with appropriate mitigation and contingency plans. Act as the "Account Manager" for specific clients, building relationships and communicating opportunities and risks. Identify new business opportunities at client sites. Meet regularly with clients to review KPIs, gather feedback, and discuss proposals. Participate in professional organizations to support industry recognition. Additional responsibilities include developing client service plans, managing project setup and budgets, facilitating meetings, updating policies, and managing operational requirements like billing and scheduling. Skills Required: Expertise in instrument calibration across manufacturing, utilities, and labs, including maintenance and accuracy testing. Strong CMMS and project management software skills, including MS Project. Ability to develop and revise policies and procedures. Excellent communication, influence, and conflict resolution skills. Financial acumen and understanding of P&L implications. Technical knowledge of FDA, GMP, GLP, NIST standards, and calibration equipment. Active involvement in professional organizations; external certifications preferred. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and documentation skills. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Ability to interpret proposals and coordinate activities within scope. Familiarity with business practices like quotations, proposals, and purchase orders. Experience & Education: A four-year degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields (or military equivalent) and five years of instrumentation experience in the pharmaceutical industry are required. Project management experience or certification is preferred. Strong customer service skills are essential.
