Position Summary The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for inspecting machined parts, assemblies, and materials to ensure they meet specifications, drawings, and quality standards. This role requires precise measurement skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of quality processes to support a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Measurement Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts.

Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines).

Verify parts against engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.

Documentation & Reporting Record inspection results accurately in inspection reports, checklists, and quality databases.

Tag and document nonconforming products, issuing Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as needed.

Maintain records to meet ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable quality standards.

Collaboration & Problem Solving Work closely with machinists, engineers, and supervisors to address quality issues.

Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.

Support process improvements to prevent recurring defects.

Compliance & Safety Follow all company quality procedures and inspection guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Comply with safety protocols and use PPE appropriately.

Work Environment

Machine shop and inspection lab environment.

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting parts up to 40 lbs.

May require overtime to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T interpretation.

Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

Experience with Manual and/or CNC CMM programming and operation.

Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems.

Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision industries.
