This in-office role in Houston, Texas, will support and grow with the AES Clean Energy Commercial business. The Senior Analyst will develop and refine deal models and transaction valuations, and partner with other commercial functions in our Origination, Trading, Risk, and Finance teams.
Responsibilities
Lead Allegro modeling to ensure accurate ISO settlements and setup PPA/contract in Adapt2 & ETRM. Oversee full trade lifecycle, from sourcing inputs to trade mapping Integrate data from bid-bill systems, GCP, and other sources into Allegro for ISO and PPA transactions with cross-functional collaboration with digital, commercial, ETRM & settlements teams Support variable margin management framework, build key portfolio drivers, and provide actionable insights for senior leadership and trade desks Analyze requirements for Physical & Financial Deals (Futures, Options, Swaps), PPAs, MTM, and P&L reporting. Manage daily commercial operations and data flow across AES trading systems Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for ETRM, bid-to-bill, and trading platforms Ensure accurate booking of accruals/invoices and validation of realized components Act as liaison across trading, risk, ETRM, and settlements, driving timely issue resolution Build strong partnerships with trading, market ops, audit, risk, and settlements teams Deliver multiple projects concurrently with minimal oversight while meeting quality standards Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 3–5 years’ experience with ETRM and bid-to-bill systems (Allegro, Adapt2, PCI). Advanced expertise in Allegro and bid-bill modeling. Proven stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of US power markets (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, NEISO, MISO). Strong SQL/T-SQL skills; Microsoft/Google cloud and APIs; handle large datasets and structures/queries. Understanding of data flows across trading, settlements, scheduling, and market ops.
