How You’ll Make an Impact : Dudek seeks a Senior Forestry and Fire Protection Planning Manager to support the growth of our natural resources team. The successful candidate will possess a well-established network within the region and contribute to the development of our natural resource services. This seller/doer position requires a minimum of twelve years’ experience in arboriculture, urban forestry, fuels planning, wildfire mitigation, and/or hazard tree and vegetation risk assessment. Proven ability to independently conduct tree assessments, prepare comprehensive reports, engage effectively with clients, and manage complex projects is essential. Responsibilities include leading or contributing to public and private sector projects, pursuing business opportunities, and ensuring high-quality work products and regulatory compliance. Build strong relationships with clients and identify new business prospects. Coordinate and facilitate client meetings, presenting Dudek work products. Cross-sell other disciplines within the company and seek collaboration opportunities. Lead proposals for projects of varying complexity. Engage in the professional community, attending industry conferences and training sessions. Draft chapters for urban forest management plans, including best practices and sustainability assessments. Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely execution and optimal efficiency. Conduct thorough individual tree evaluations and risk assessments, utilizing field equipment for data collection. Produce arborist and technical reports, including written recommendations for tree management. Offer expert consultation and guidance to clients regarding tree care and management strategies. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or a related field. 12 years’ experience in arboriculture, urban forestry, fuels planning, or hazard tree and vegetation risk assessment. Certification as an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist with Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Writing skills, project management experience, and familiarity with GIS, GPS, and arboricultural practices. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with USFS, BLM, NRCS, or state forestry agencies. Familiarity with Fire Protection Plan (FPP) preparation and relevant fire safety codes. Experience with ROW vegetation clearance, IVM strategies, or utility wildfire mitigation plans.
