Overview

As a direct report to the Quality Manager, the role leads a cross-functional team from RSA’s various departments to ensure assigned projects meet customer required dates and comply with customer, industry, and internal specifications. The position manages Non Destructive Testing (NDT) processes such as Penetrant Inspection and Radiography Inspection, with required support to meet Industry and Customer quality and delivery requirements. The role serves as the main point of contact with RSA Level 3 to obtain needed support for certified RSA employees and addresses concerns or questions. The role also maintains NADCAP compliance for NDT processes by collaborating with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and third-party auditing agencies. Responsibilities

Lead or support Sr. Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision. Lead or support on-time delivery through the manufacturing process, including DMR resolution, process verification, and FAIR/Source/Conformity activities. Support other quality engineering team members on departmental tasks to improve skills and meet business objectives. Provide technical leadership to cross-functional team members on assigned programs and quality tasks. Manage complex projects to support RSA and customers’ business requirements with diligent leadership. Lead or support MRB (Material Review Board) processes per RSA’s non-conforming material procedures; participate in MRB meetings and problem resolution. Analyze production, labor standards, and material costs to recommend manufacturing process changes and forecast future requirements. Lead or support customer quality concerns, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., Shainin, 8D, Ishikawa, Pareto) to improve RSA quality. Lead or support RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes to achieve timely turnaround on returned products. Maintain frequent formal and informal communication with customers regarding project status and action items. Conduct program reviews with RSA leadership and customers to provide clear, concise project status. Identify project risks early, communicate them, and present solutions aligned with RSA and customer needs. Support NDT team members (certified inspectors) to ensure parts meet specifications; facilitate liaison among Operations, Quality, and Engineering; provide training and coaching as required. Host or participate in customer and third-party audits; provide technical support during audits. Adhere to RSA and TriMas procedures and policies, FAA and customer requirements; complete required trainings and advise management on actions needed. On-site presence required 5 days at the Simi Valley, CA location. Qualifications

BS degree (4-year) in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Candidates without a degree may be considered if they have significant relevant experience and demonstrate exceptional qualifications. 6+ years of related experience in Aerospace or Automotive quality or manufacturing engineering with leadership and cross-functional collaboration. Desirable: Working knowledge or certifications in AS9100 or TS16949 standards; NADCAP knowledge of NDT environments; requirement for corrective actions (8-D); strong communication and teamwork abilities; hands-on ability to research and learn topics independently; experience with MRB and non-conformance procedures; AS9102 first article inspection and related processes; internal audit training/certification for AS9100; inspection experience with calipers, height gauges, and Faro arms; supervisory experience. Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $90,000-$108,000. Compensation can vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location; some roles may include incentives such as equity, commissions, or other bonuses.
