Overview
Senior Business Analyst to join CAPTRUST’s Project Management and Data & Analytics team. This role partners with business leaders to uncover needs, scope initiatives, and ensure projects deliver measurable business value. The Senior Business Analyst will break down complex challenges into clear solutions, balance short-term priorities with long-term strategy, and facilitate decision making at all levels of the firm.
Responsibilities
Integrate with business users to understand the real need or problem at hand
Quickly learn systems, processes, and people to accelerate project impact
Facilitate workshops and executive-level discussions to uncover underlying drivers and ensure alignment on scope, ROI, and success criteria
Use value stream mapping and process optimization to design smarter workflows and identify dependencies and risks
Collaborate across departments to identify dependencies, risks, and downstream impacts of decisions
Translate conceptual needs into detailed, functional requirements, user stories, and feature sets in an Agile environment
Break down complex business problems into logical, practical sequences for development
Define measurable success criteria and ensure they are embedded into the development life cycle
Partner with development teams to ensure solutions align with business priorities and governance standards
Maintain a balanced view of short-term deliverables and long-term enterprise value
Communicate insights, trade-offs, and benefits to executives and business users with clarity and influence
Support adoption through clear communication, training, and by connecting business outcomes to solution design
Help stakeholders understand the broader impacts of decisions across people, processes, and systems
Influence with data-driven insights and clear communication at all levels of the organization
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
8 years of applicable experience; investment industry is a plus
Desired Qualifications/Skills
Proven expertise in understanding and documenting business needs and requirements
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at various organizational levels
Experience in business analysis with proficiency in tools such as Azure DevOps, Visio, and Microsoft Excel
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex information to aid decision-making
Proven interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to influence stakeholders
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
Familiarity with CRM applications, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
Basic understanding of business process reengineering
Prior experience in the investment industry is a plus
Familiarity with Agile delivery and breaking requirements into actionable features and stories
