Position: Trade Compliance Specialist (US Import Compliance)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trade Compliance Specialist to support our Customer's global import classification program. This role will focus on U.S. import compliance, working closely with external brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate HTS classification, regulatory alignment, and timely shipment clearance.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and bring strong analytical skills, ERP system experience (SAP preferred), and a deep understanding of U.S. customs regulations.
Responsibilities and Requirements
6+ years in customs/trade compliance managing large import compliance programs for professional service / fortune 500 / high tech companies Primarily US Import Compliance. Dealing with external vendors/brokers on regular basis (carriers, transportation companies, etc.) Leveraging Excel and SAP (or other large ERP systems) for classification and driving KPI/data analysis Ability to handle large, high-pressure volume levels (~30-40 shipments a day) Familiar with Section 301 and 232 Additional Qualifications
Support the Client's Global Trade classification program and other classification teams globally. Conduct classification analysis to arrive at an accurate HTS by using various trade tools such as GRIs, CROSS rulings, WCO explanatory notes, and other classification tools. Maintain & monitor previous part classifications in SAP-GTS to ensure consistent and valid tariff numbers. Monitor, measure and develop reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs.) Evaluate new government requirements and partner with regional teams to ensure import compliance. Perform global classification and duty analysis on client's products. Lead global classification audits and root cause any errors. Manage classification specific projects as assigned. Create and maintain process and procedures. Create effective and clear communication with stakeholders (Emails, Presentations, etc.) Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
