(Role: MANAGER SUPERVISOR) Responsibilities
Establishes the policies and procedures for the Watch Office and its coordination between System Operation and the Ignition Management Office. Oversees the management of the Watch Office operations responsible for monitoring, assessing, and reporting incidents, accidents, and significant events across the Company. Evaluates the scope and impact of incidents, keeps leadership teams informed, and recommends escalation, when necessary. Watch Office Management: plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Watch Office staff; develops goals and objectives; ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with other emergency managers to resolve technology needs, organize budget inputs, and lead development of Watch Office budget inputs. Develops strategies to identify critical information requirements for key stakeholders and develops business plans to keep strategies updated to meet company needs. Hazard Risk Management: identifies and implements new technologies to support watch operations and situational awareness tools for crisis response; interacts with T&D Operations, field operations, grid operators, and fire management personnel to maintain knowledge of grid systems and relationships with field personnel and external stakeholders. Documentation and Reporting: develops and maintains standardized reporting structures and formats; ensures analysis and distribution from staff to executives; provides 24/7 situational awareness and hazard monitoring. Department Management: supervises staff including performance management, training, scheduling for 24/7 coverage, and budget contributions. Promotes safety culture and participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned. Qualifications
Knowledge Requirements
BA/BS in business, fire science, engineering, or related field desired. Working knowledge of Hazard Monitoring and Detection including wildfire behavior, fuel types, fire weather forecasting, meteorological tools, seismic, volcanic and hydrological indicators, satellite imagery, remote sensing and GIS tools. Working knowledge of Emergency Management and Preparedness including NIMS/ICS. Knowledge of technical information relating to operations in Grid Operations, Transmission and Distribution, T&D, IT, OT, Telecom, Generation, Power Procurement, or other technical areas. Basic knowledge of Geospatial Information System (GIS). Knowledge of personal computers and common software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc. Budgeting and forecasting systems and procedures. Skills Requirements
Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive, and strategic guidance. Ability to identify and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve division and organizational goals. Proficient in MS Office applications. Ability to adapt in a demanding environment and respond to emergencies calmly. Effective verbal and written communication. Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to assess risks and opportunities and define long-range outcomes and strategies. Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues with tact and discretion. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization. Experience Requirements
3-5 years of experience operating a real-time information analysis center, operations center, or dispatch center; experience in real-time operational or incident management at an electric utility preferred. 3-5 years of supervisory experience including budgeting, workforce planning, and statistical analysis. 1-2 years leading teams through stressful emergencies/crises for extended durations. 1-2 years incident command experience desired.
