Sr. Category Sourcing Manager, Silicon Sourcing — Base pay range: $133,200.00/yr - $220,200.00/yr. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We’re the people who keep the cloud running, supporting data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at low cost, in an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. The Silicon sourcing and procurement team is looking for a results-oriented individual to own technical sourcing activities for semiconductor technology. You will drive the development and execution of sourcing strategies and supplier management for silicon products, partnering closely with hardware engineering and network engineering teams to define hardware development and sourcing strategies for next generation optical interconnect technology. Our Category Sourcing Managers are experts in their industries and drive AWS growth by enabling disruptive technologies through responsible and strategic sourcing. Key responsibilities
Develop sourcing strategies for semiconductor products to deliver against business and engineering objectives and build sustainable relationships with strategic suppliers Partner with Server and Network Product Development and Network Engineering teams to identify and define hardware development and product launch plans as part of a multi-year technology strategy Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, optimize cost, and leverage industry developments Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in mutual and sustainable ways by leveraging Amazon’s scale Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts with cross-functional partners; identify cost reduction opportunities by leveraging volumes and optimizing the supplier base Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, and RFP) Track internal metrics for executing projects and sourcing plans Make trade-offs between schedule, resources, and scope, applying advanced technical and business knowledge to address risks and obstacles Help develop long-term department strategies and influence cross-company project development and delivery standards Be a subject matter expert for customers, technologies, and markets Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements 5+ years of professional or military experience Bachelor's degree Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications
