Department Profile
Wealth Management Client Segments is a division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management that includes the Field organization, Workplace, Institutional, and Direct clients, as well as Marketing and Analytics. The goal of the Client Segments business is to ensure that MSWM meets clients on their advice journey, supporting their growth, and deepening relationships over time.
The Path to Advice team sits within the Client Solutions Group, focused on driving new asset and client growth across Advisor, Workplace and Direct segments. The Path to Advice team oversees the strategy and execution of that client journey, supporting clients as they move from those segments to the advice channel.
Role Profile
In this role, you will support the strategy of several initiatives the Path to Advice team is standing up, including the development of new product lines (e.g., corporate cash, lending) spanning Advisor, Workplace, and Direct client segments.
You will join a team of high-performers with a proven record of executing Firm strategy to deepen client relationships across multiple channels, contributing to Firm flows and providing Financial Advisors with lead opportunities that generate Net New Asset growth.
As an Assistant Vice President/Associate, you will contribute to strategic discussions with internal stakeholders, help align on key decisions with partners across the Firm, and assist in executing those decisions efficiently and accurately.
You will balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution to stand up new initiatives and scale them to contribute to Net New Assets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and key deliverables; contribute to launching initiatives focused on driving Net New Asset growth.
Collaborate with teams across business units and regions to advance strategic projects and operational improvements. The role is Field-facing and requires coordination with Financial Advisors and Field Management.
Provide data-driven insights and develop strategic recommendations with senior colleagues.
Support the lead distribution process and deliver key materials for external audiences; contribute to the Path to Advice narrative.
Develop concise presentations communicating strategic priorities and insights.
Partner with teams across the end-to-end customer journey, including Analytics & Data, Marketing, Morgan Stanley at Work, Strategic Client Management, and Virtual Client Solutions.
Collaborate with business and operational teams to improve opportunities delivered to Financial Advisors.
Work across multiple lines of business and operations to improve opportunities sent to Financial Advisors.
Support and analyze test & learn campaigns, identify optimization opportunities.
Participate in senior-level discussions and deliver insights informing tactical and long-term decisions.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
3-6 years in top-tier management consulting, technology or financial services
Experience in financial services preferred; Wealth Management expertise a plus
Skills Required
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; financial modeling skills a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence stakeholders and work across teams; experience with senior leadership a plus
Project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and adapt to changing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented and results-driven; high energy; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Coding and Data Analytics skills a plus (SQL, Python, VBA, Dataiku, Tableau)
