Position Overview
The
Category Manager
is an integral part of the procurement team. The initial goal will be to gain a solid knowledge of the team’s supply base, company, and procurement processes, and understanding of the roles and personnel of associated work groups inside International Motors. As the
Category Manager
you will be a member of a Category Management Team (CMT), which provides the opportunity to work cross functionally within International Motors interfacing with the product development engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, logistics, aftermarket parts, product pricing, supply chain and more. As the
Category Manager - Battery and Electrical Components , you will be responsible for managing an estimated spend of ~ $200M. The category you will be responsible for includes electrical components and batteries for class 6 through 8 commercial trucks. Demonstrating solid performance in this role will position you well for advancement into jobs of higher responsibility within International Motors Procurement. Responsibilities
Influencing internal and external stakeholders in the development and execution of strategy Cross functional collaboration Management of Cost Reduction projects Leading strategic sourcing activities for new programs and transfer business Supplier contract negotiations and administration Supplier performance management Working closely with the Best Cost Country Sourcing Team on projects and developing strategies for tail spend suppliers to effectively consolidate the supply base. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience At least 1 year of lead experience OR Master’s degree At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience At least 1 year of lead experience OR At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience At least 1 year of lead experience Additional Requirements
