Express is seeking a Store Manager The Store Manager role is twofold: to drive and guide all aspects of the customer experience and store operations; and to identify, develop and lead talent and teaching for the store team. The position ensures consistently high-quality customer experiences by applying a hospitality mindset and delivering on the Express brand purpose: We Create Confidence. We Inspire Self-Expression. Success is based on talent quality, customer experience, productivity and performance against key metrics. Key Responsibilities
Talent Attract, develop and retain top talent Support an environment with exceptionally high store morale Foster teamwork and a "one team" mentality Coach, teach, recognize, and manage performance and development to encourage growth Build a succession plan for all roles Identify and nurture high-performing associates Develop and maximize success of associates to achieve sales potential and customer experience Attract, recruit and hire all store associates Customer and Associate Experience Lead, model, teach, and coach for consistent customer engagement Create a culture of proactive customer engagement Demonstrate expert knowledge of product, policies, promotions, loyalty programs; educate the team Lead with product launches, visual standards, signage placement Resolve customer complaints positively and proactively Drive loyalty and credit card acquisition through an engaged team Ensure positive in-store experiences through visual standards Execution Analyze the business and execute clear action plans Manage all aspects of daily store operations Ensure clarity of goals and plans for all associates Direct workload and ensure execution of plans across the store Ensure adherence to company policies and safety Direct merchandise flow, shipments, replenishment, and omni-channel operations Optimize sales/operations by merchandising strategies and initiatives Ensure an effective schedule with the right staff at the right time Manage controllable expenses and ensure loss prevention and safety standards Essential Qualifications
Three to five years of store management experience with annual sales volume of $3 million plus Proven ability to increase sales and profitability Proven ability to recruit, interview, train, develop and promote associates Ability to travel periodically, as needed for meetings Ability to move medium to large items weighing up to 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
Effective communication with customers, peers and supervisors Demonstrated sales accountability Collaborative, respectful team member Ability to multitask and handle multiple customers/processes Closing
