Overview

Lead the management of past-due and non-performing loan accounts. Protect the portfolio by minimizing lender losses while balancing borrower needs. Provide compliance oversight and ensure adherence to internal policies. Collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain strong portfolio management practices. Guide the Special Assets team through daily operations, data analysis, reporting, and vendor management. In This Role You Will

Effectively handle all aspects of the lender’s past-due and non-performing loan accounts from initial default through liquidation. Negotiate workout agreements with borrowers while maximizing recovery for the lender. Monitor and enforce compliance with workout plan terms, addressing emerging issues promptly. Provide leadership and guidance in risk mitigation strategy and process development. Report regularly to senior management on exposure, losses, reserves, and risk-rating changes. Lead the Special Assets team in compiling data, managing contractors/auditors, and controlling expenses. Analyze and report on financial deficiencies of non-performing loans. Oversee asset workout, REO sales, repurchases, collateral, and liquidation of non-performing loans, minimizing losses. Coordinate information flow with Portfolio Management, Loan Operations, and other departments. Manage REO sales, repossessions, and vendor relationships with attorneys, preservation companies, and agents. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance standards in Special Assets. Requirements

5+ years of directly related professional experience in a commercial lending environment. 3+ years in a management role with staff development and leadership responsibilities. Proven ability to present ideas, updates and recommendations to executive management. Thorough knowledge of RTL and DSCR loans, construction (permitting, planning, code compliance, zoning, etc.), accounting, financial statement analysis, cash flow, and credit workouts. Strong understanding of financial and legal processes in commercial lending. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Preferred Qualifications
