Responsibilities
The Store Manager 2 will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately, including handling cash, providing receipts, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Respond to guest questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates. Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing a shift; oversee policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Communicate with store associates and District Manager to implement store initiatives; set guest service expectations and train staff accordingly. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers. Schedule store associates and manage breaks/meals; maintain optimum staffing for guest service. Approve payroll and manage paid time off; verify time records are accurate. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; update performance records in Workday/HR systems. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure all fixtures and equipment are functional. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily where applicable. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor. Protect company assets with inventory control and loss prevention practices; inspect packages at closing as appropriate. Lead the store team in meeting or exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Balance and reconcile daily transactions; ensure accurate closeout paperwork and daily bank deposits. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, properly labeling boxes and including packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and keep manuals up to date. Develop professional partnerships with military base personnel where applicable. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Ability to provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team head; manage tasks timely. Meet leadership performance expectations and maintain safety and respectful workplace standards. Operate POS system and perform basic math and alphabetizing. Complete required paperwork accurately and follow written or diagrammed instructions. Handle financial tasks in accordance with company policy and adapt to fast-changing environments. Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Remain reliable and trustworthy; use good judgment; able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and reach overhead.
