As a Rehabilitation Assistant 2, you will work under the supervision of a Rehabilitation Counselor or other professional staff and will support clinical professionals in providing rehabilitation services, including: Interviewing and gathering information from individuals Assisting in conducting assessments Assisting in planning and conducting rehabilitation activities Minimum Qualifications
Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Rehabilitation Assistant 2 to assist clinical professionals in providing rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as Rehabilitation Assistant 2 if they have 2 years of experience assisting individuals with daily living skills, taking care of their personal needs, and ensuring a comfortable home environment. OR candidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. OR, in accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, the notice advises all OMH employees of the intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Rehabilitation Assistant 2 at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center; permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion if all requirements are met.
