As an expert SAP ERP Test Lead at Cengage, you will drive end-to-end testing efforts for our SAP implementation and enhancements within large multi-functional projects. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong coordination with offshore teams, effective business communication, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage offshore QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality test execution following Agile model and Sprint releases Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and scripts across SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI, CRM) Coordinate with onsite business and IT leads to capture requirements, resolve issues, and align priorities Track and report testing progress using Excel dashboards, JIRA and Zephyr (optional) Facilitate defect triage meetings, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking Ensure test coverage and traceability for functional, integration, regression, and UAT phases Mentor junior testers, promote standard QA processes, and cultivate a culture of accountability Skills You’ll Need Here
9+ years of relevant software quality assurance experience and experience writing manual test cases, test plans, and executing tests in S4 HANA SAP implementation projects At least 7+ years of SAP testing experience across workstreams and minimum 5+ years of test lead experience in ERP S4 HANA implementations Strong understanding of standard SAP processes, requirements documentation, process flows, and RICEFWs Experience building kickoff decks, test plans, test cases (OTC, PTP, RTR) with Functional leads; develop test plans, traceability, and test scripts based on functional/technical specifications Willingness to travel to Boston, MA and Mason, OH as needed Proven success in leading offshore teams and cross-time-zone collaboration Coordinate triage activities for sprints and SIT/UAT cycles; produce test status reports for design, execution, and defects daily Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards) and JIRA Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment Experience working with business and IT leads in a client-facing capacity Conduct risk assessments and prioritize testing to validate all business processes and functionalities; anticipate problems and coordinate with project teams Work in Agile sprint cadences and support releases Extensive experience in leading QA and UAT in fast-paced S4 implementations is required. As the test lead, you will work with the PMO and Program/Project Managers, QA manager, business analysts, QA analysts, SI team, and other collaborators to ensure test activities align with project needs and timelines. You should have strong communication and collaboration skills with a wide range of technical and non-technical personnel, and be able to solve problems proactively. You should be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Follow QA tool usage standards on projects (Jira and Zephyr) to maintain the test repository, complete test execution cycles, and triage defects. You will participate in and lead Sprint Testing as needed for PROD application support and plan Sprint regression as needed. Base pay range: $88,600.00 – $115,200.00 USD. Individual base pay varies based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and location.
