Rapidly responds to and addresses supplier quality and performance issues that are impacting daily manufacturing operations utilizing a corrective action process.
Coordinates efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers.
Promotes design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers to review/modify tolerances/specifications on both new and existing designs.
Supports various elements of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including review and sign-off of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Coordinates with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to prepare suppliers for new product launch so to minimize impact to the business.
Reviews key internal quality metrics (NCM, PPM, Warranty, etc.) and identifies, initiates, and completes corrective/preventive actions to achieve desired performance targets.
Leads on-site supplier process assessments and quality systems audits - recommends improvements and monitors implementation of changes.
Works with suppliers to develop continuous improvement initiatives to yield timely and effective solutions to complex manufacturing and/or quality problems.
Supports the standardization of quality/business methods, measures and tools.
Assists in the identification of value engineering and process improvements that result in cost reduction opportunities.
Leads key Supply Chain Management elements of the Quality Management System to maintain internal ISO compliance/registration.
Leads and mentors employees in the use of quality tools, problem solving techniques, and methodologies to measure, monitor, report, and improve business performance.
Qualifications
BS Degree in Quality, Engineering, or Business.
A minimum of five (5) years Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, or Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to teach problem-solving and quality system management practices.
Ability to systematically gather/analyze data to make decisions and provide recommendations that solve problems and prevent recurrence.
Prior experience in Supply chain function of procurement and or sourcing is highly desired
Ability to effectively communicate/work with and influence all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
Proven success in the use of and mentoring of Problem-Solving methods.
Working knowledge of measurement and statistical process control techniques.
Hands-on experience and demonstrated success in the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BI tools, SQL data queries, etc.
Advanced Problem Solving (Six Sigma Black Belt) certification is highly desirable.
ASQ (CQE, CQM, Lead Assessor) Certifications highly desirable
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; frequently on short notice
