Overview

Protein Purification Associate Scientist role at BioSpace. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Protein Purification Associate Scientist to join our US Protein Department. This role involves executing downstream processing activities including protein purification, characterization, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field, along with hands-on experience in protein purification techniques in a laboratory or manufacturing setting. Responsibilities

Perform protein purification using chromatography techniques such as affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, and hydrophobic interaction. Prepare buffers and reagents following SOPs and project-specific protocols. Characterize protein products using SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, HPLC, UV spectroscopy, BCA assay, and other analytical methods. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of experimental procedures and results. Troubleshoot and optimize purification protocols as needed to improve yield and purity. Collaborate closely with upstream, analytical, and quality teams to ensure project timelines and specifications are met. Assist in the revision and creation of SOPs, batch records, and technical reports. Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the department supervisor. Qualifications

BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization. Familiarity with AKTA systems and chromatography software is a strong plus. Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and data integrity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience in a CRO or CDMO setting is preferred.
