The Director of Teaching and Learning ensures focus on the district’s strategic plan as it relates to instruction and achievement; provides district-wide leadership for the delivery of quality programming, supports principals in their work as instructional leaders, helps to build capacity and improve the effectiveness of instruction, manages the coordination of teaching and learning activities for all students and staff, completes mandated accountability reports, and promotes effective student transitions to post-secondary and/or employment. Primary Responsibilities
Set clear instructional goals that support and assist staff with increasing student achievement Support the creation of a positive school climate to establish a thriving learning culture Operate and manage an educational system focused on high quality and effective instruction Build instructional leadership, shared understanding and unity with principals among staff Develop racial, cultural, socio-economic and educational competencies that transcend differences Provide leadership to develop, implement and evaluate standards-based curriculum, professional learning, data driven decision-making and differentiation strategies Develop and oversee curriculum review process to align with federal, state, and local mandates and the integration of student and program evaluation results Ensure the District's strategic and operational plans are developed and implemented successfully Oversee professional learning and staff development activities Ensure access to materials and appropriate infrastructure Assist with implementation of the District's Portrait of a Graduate (POG) plan Prepare and communicate information related to assessment and achievement to school district stakeholders Represent the district at Minnesota Department of Education meetings and other partner organizations as well as act as liaison between the district and state concerning activities related to curriculum, staff development, and mentoring Advise School Board, Superintendent and administration regarding instruction, assessment, staff development, and curriculum Work with instructional coaches, while coordinating programming and day-to-day operations Assist with the supervision and duty assignments of teachers and clerical support Outstanding Candidates Will Be
Knowledgeable about
Educational programming and curriculum development Assessment processes, evaluation techniques and program improvement processes Minnesota Academic Standards Statistical and quantitative procedures and methods Instructional technologies and software, equipment, tools and devices used for presenting instruction, assessing learning and assuring student progress
Skilled in
The design and implementation of educational programming and staff development Instructional systems, models, theories, educational technologies, and trends

Masters Degree Experience as a teacher and school and/or program administrator Minnesota Teaching License with a Professional Administrative K-12 Principal endorsement or enrolled in an administrative program for licensure Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree Three years of administrative experience Strong background in educational technology Contract
12-month contract beginning Fall of 2025. Salary and Benefits
Salary and benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions: Salary range: $120,000 to $140,000 Benefits May Include
