Arizona College of Nursing is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and hands-on Masters or Doctorate-prepared nursing professional to join us as a full-time Nursing Faculty member based on our Falls Church, VA BSN campus. Mental Health OB/Women's Health Med Surg Fundamentals (Funds) Core responsibilities
Core Nursing Faculty provide instruction that facilitates students’ achievement of course objectives, engage in scholarly and service activities to promote professional development, and contribute to the success of the College and its students. They demonstrate the college values of Passion, Excellence, Adaptability, Accountability, and Integrity. Develops, implements, teaches, and evaluates the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program. Designs, implements, teaches, evaluates, and revises the curriculum. Documents actions in faculty and committee meetings using a systematic plan of evaluation for total program review. Leads simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab. Didactic responsibilities
Teach and evaluate students in the classroom; teach at least 36 credits annually. Design an effective learning environment addressing contemporary issues in nursing. Support students’ progression academically and professionally into the role of nursing. Utilize diverse assessment tools to evaluate student learning. Participate in curriculum design, program evaluation, and program revision. Mentor faculty, adjuncts, and students; pursue ongoing professional development annually. Serve as an advisor to core nursing students; communicate with advisees at least once per semester. Develop student success plans and remediate at-risk students. Clinical responsibilities
Oversee instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts; facilitate application of theory to practice. Attend hospital-based orientations and maintain knowledge of program outcomes and course objectives. Communicate effectively with clinical agency staff, faculty, and students. Identify and communicate clinical concerns to Course Lead Faculty and suggest solutions. Provide regular updates on student progress and clinical issues; provide timely feedback on clinical papers. Maintain records of student performance and complete clinical site evaluations. Adhere to policies of Arizona College of Nursing and the clinical facility. Additional teaching responsibilities
Plan, teach, and evaluate classroom, clinical, and skills labs; collaborate with team members. Connect students to College resources; demonstrate soft skills and leadership and ethics. Foster communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and dependability. Maintain campus presence and contribute to campus culture; participate in governance and faculty events; protect student privacy per FERPA guidelines. All other duties as assigned. Faculty must provide evidence of education and experience to teach a given course and participate in student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policy development within the institution’s framework. The following are representative requirements: Graduate degree required; if not in nursing, must have a Bachelor’s in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program. Minimum of three (3) years of professional RN experience with direct patient care. Prior teaching experience in a RN program is preferred. Current unencumbered RN license or appropriate licensure for the teaching location. Certified Nurse Educator and national certification in the specialty are preferred. Maintains professional competence through practice, continuing education, conferences, and scholarly activities. Subject to state BON/BRN/HEB regulations where the campus is located. Seniority level
