Activity Programs Director – Belmont Village Aventura
As the Activity Programs Director in this newly constructed community, you will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of resident activity programs within our Assisted Living and Independent Living community. You will help ensure residents are offered diverse and engaging life-long learning opportunities, supported by our Regional and Corporate teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Responsibilities
Promote resident socialization, growth, learning and development by planning, implementing and engaging residents in activities across physical/exercise, entertainment, social, religious, recreational/creative, volunteering, intellectual, and special resident requests. Coordinate and accompany scheduled outings as needed. Develop an informative monthly newsletter including a calendar of community events. Plan, coordinate and implement decor for special events, seasons and holidays. Manage the Transportation Team including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating and coaching. Provide technological support and training to residents as needed. Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to support community activities and events. Work collaboratively with community management, regional and corporate support teams. Communicate with and support resident family members as needed. Conduct interviewing and hiring, evaluate employee performance, provide coaching and training, and delegate assignments for direct reports. Minimum Qualifications
Experience coordinating and leading dynamic activities with groups of 15 or more. Demonstrated strengths in creativity, oral and written communication, and organizational skills. Associate degree in Recreational Therapy, Education or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in the use of technology in activities and technology troubleshooting skills. Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation including weekends as needed. Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure successful operation of the community. Must successfully complete TB test, drug test, health screening, basic First Aid training, and background checks where applicable.
