Adelphi University’s Department of Health and Sport Sciences is seeking applications for a
tenure-track Assistant Professor in Nutrition , position beginning in Fall 2026. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics. Supervise students conducting SELs (act as liaison between student and preceptor, conduct site visit reports, assess competencies, etc.) Serve on the ACEND Site Visit Committee and complete ongoing accreditation work. Advise and mentor Graduate Assistants. Advise and mentor students. Provide service to school, university, and community. Establish or continue a focused research line within nutrition, dietetics, or a related field. QUALIFICATIONS: Earned an academic terminal degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field. ABD candidates will receive consideration but need to have the doctoral degree earned by December 31st, 2025. Registered Dietitian in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required. Administrative experience as well as experience with ACEND accreditation, and SEL supervision are preferred. Experience teaching pedagogy courses. Experience teaching online courses. A track record of scholarship and service. Academic experiences with culturally diverse populations. Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
