Lead a team of regional EH&S professionals focused on providing direct support to sites within their sub-regions with a customer service, skills and capabilities-building mindset. Lead and execute overall EH&S strategic plans and goals to mitigate EH&S risks across the Americas region, including North, South, and Latin America. Serve as a key member of the EH&S leadership team, routinely engaging in executive-level communications, including strategic planning, business and performance reviews. Provide expert guidance and thought leadership to business and EH&S leaders on complex regulatory compliance matters, sustainability, and best-in-class EH&S practices, shaping the organization’s long-term direction. Leverage advanced data and trend analytics to anticipate risks, drive mitigation and injury prevention efforts, and prioritize EH&S program implementation and performance improvement milestones to achieve company goals. Heavily focused on hazard and risk recognition and mitigation at the site level, driving process-standards adoption and accountability to advance EH&S performance and culture, with customer focus continuous improvement mindset. Ultimately responsible for EH&S and sustainability data reporting accuracy, and ongoing verification of EH&S performance for all sites within the region. Directly supports the resolution of EH&S enforcement matters in the region by working with EH&S, legal counsel, and operations site teams to negotiate and resolve government agency notices of violation, claims, and penalties. In support of M&A activities, lead execution of the CTA items identified in DD and manage the integration of acquired companies into SBD. Build organizational capability by providing training and development of EH&S professionals to ensure each site within the region has the appropriate technical and functional capabilities to effectively manage EH&S. Support sites with completion of annual EH&S Program Evaluation, Annual Plan including prioritization for EH&S budget, and managing the functional EH&S budget for the Americas region Report directly to the VP of Corporate EH&S; in a hybrid model, flexibility is required to respond to emergencies, and domestic/international travel required (minimum 30%). Qualifications
12+ years of progressive, strategic leadership experience in EH&S, including setting up and executing enterprise-wide strategic programs, and managing multi-level teams of EH&S professionals to deliver results while fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability. Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted partnerships with senior operations, executive leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and accelerate program implementation. Expertise in designing, optimizing, and scaling processes, methods, and systems to serve a broad and diverse customer base, ensuring operational consistency and excellence. Advanced proficiency in utilizing data analytics and leading indicators to drive proactive, evidence-based decision-making to enable measurable performance improvement. Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S Management, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent technical field; master’s degree preferred. A compelling leadership presence with proven communication skills. Extensive experience developing, implementing company EH&S Management Systems consistent with recognized models (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001) Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, drive organizational change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, global environment.
