Rainmaker Technology Corporation
Operational Meteorologist
Rainmaker Technology Corporation, El Segundo, California, United States, 90245
Overview
Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to solve water scarcity and inclement weather problems. We develop and incorporate advanced weather forecasting, numerical weather modeling, and sustainable cloud seeding technologies into an effective precipitation enhancement solution.
The Operational Meteorologist is responsible for forecasting and nowcasting for cloud seeding operations, and comprehensive analysis of atmospheric conditions to support our precipitation enhancement programs. This role requires a deep understanding of meteorological processes, operational forecasting techniques, and data analysis methods. The Operational Meteorologist will work closely with field operations and research teams to deliver accurate forecasts and optimize seeding effectiveness.
Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
What You’ll Do
Operational Forecasting:
Conduct daily operational weather forecasting for glaciogenic cloud seeding operations during winter months, and provide real-time convective cloud seeding forecasts during summer seasons. Develop and maintain forecasting workflows utilizing numerical weather prediction models, observational data, and real-time atmospheric monitoring systems.
Cloud Seeding Operations Support:
Analyze atmospheric conditions to identify prime cloud seeding opportunities and assess the potential for precipitation enhancement. Coordinate with field operations teams to provide real-time meteorological guidance during active seeding missions.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare monthly and seasonal reports documenting seeding operations and associated weather for clients. Conduct detailed analysis and verification of forecast accuracy and seeding effectiveness using statistical methods and observational data. Develop performance metrics and assessment protocols to continuously improve operational forecasting capabilities.
Research and Development:
Contribute to the development of improved forecasting methodologies and seeding strategies. Collaborate on projects with the research team.
