Tera Janelle Design is a full-service residential interior design firm, specializing in custom renovations and ground-up new construction projects, guiding clients through every detail of the design, build, and furnishing process. We are based in Lynchburg, Virginia and work with clients throughout Virginia and beyond. The role is ideal for a junior-to-mid-level designer who is a detail-oriented self starter, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to grow with an established team!
We are seeking an
Interior Designer
(or Architect/Draftsman with a love of interiors)
who has 2-3 years of work experience in residential interior design. JOB ROLE:
Develop detailed interior drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and custom cabinetry and millwork designs. Collaborate with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of design plans. Collaborate with Principal Designer on project design concepts and development. Create digital 3D models and renderings. Generate highly organized and detailed project specification schedules. Draw, review, and annotate construction and shop drawings. Communicate with clients, contractors, design team, and trades to support an environment of high-level collaboration, dedication, timely communication, and creative problem solving. Support project management tasks, including budgeting, receiving, procurement tracking, and scheduling. Engage in training, markets, and learning opportunities to foster continued growth in interior design and relevant technologies. QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture (draftsman) from an accredited program. Minimum of 2+ years work experience in residential interiors . Detail-oriented self starter, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to grow with a team. Experience in collaborating with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of design plans. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp. High attention to detail to ensure design intent, as well as technical and financial accuracy. Experience with residential custom furniture, fabrics, finishes and decorative items. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Pay: Based on experience Partial paid maternity/paternity leave Position is Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM in studio), Tuesday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM remotely, as projects allow) with additional hours available based on project loads and installation schedules.
