Core Competencies: Partnerships; Growth mindset; Results oriented; Customer focused; Professionalism Reporting: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of GM, Perishables, and Store Operations Positions that Report to you: Produce Department Employees Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and teamwork; encourages employees to greet and speak to customers; provides prompt, courteous, and efficient service; sets a good example; learns customers\' names and uses them when possible Assists customers by escorting to products, securing difficult-to-reach items, assisting with heavy items, noting customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates department employees Determines department goals with store director Determines weekly work schedule and daily work plan for the department Supervises Salad Bar employees through planning, scheduling, and overseeing operations Inspects signage and displays; orders product for replenishment Communicates with employees regarding sales and ideas; handles and resolves customer issues Sets retail pricing and ensures correct pricing Extends and posts invoices; oversees department bookkeeping procedures Analyzes weekly and monthly sales and trends; compares to actuals; prepares ad projections and writes ads Conducts inventory and oversees Salad Bar inventory Plans displays, promotions, and determines pre-orders Maintains proper temperatures and storage procedures to guarantee freshness and control shrink Understands and troubleshoots equipment and ensures maintenance is performed Maintains adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress Adheres to company policies and store guidelines Reports to work as scheduled and on time Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures pricing is competitive in the market area Attends meetings and seminars; participates in continuing education Fills displays and works in the sales area Unloads trucks, checks in delivered merchandise and stores appropriately Performs departmental duties as needed; assists in other areas of the store Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required Supervisory Responsibilities

Instructs, assigns, reviews and plans work of others Maintains standards, coordinates activities, allocates personnel, addresses employee problems, and selects new employees Has authority to approve employee discipline Has authority to recommend employee transfer, discharge, and salary increases Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization; interpret instructions Arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages Ability to compose original correspondence; interpret written work instructions; interview job applicants; follow technical manuals; interact with people Education and Experience

High School or equivalent experience from on-the-job training, plus produce and sanitation courses. Over one year of related work experience. Physical Requirements

Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects Vision requirements include ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions Working Conditions

This position is frequently exposed to temperature extremes and dampness. Possible equipment movement hazards from pallet jacks, electrical shocks, and exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents. This is a fast-paced work environment. Equipment Used

Knives, wrapping machine, juice machine, cash register, pallet jacks, garbage disposal, forklift, trash compactor, cardboard compactor, computer, calculator, Telexon ordering unit, C.A.R.S. system. Confidentiality and Financial Responsibility

Has access to confidential information including employee compensation, monthly results, quarterly inventory reports, sales and profit sheets, and warehouse pricing. Responsible for company assets including equipment and merchandise. Contacts
