Under general supervision, design, deliver, and assess instruction in terms of student learning outcomes; teach assigned courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate nursing program in specific fields which includes but not limited to medical-surgical/acute care, maternal and child health, women's health, adult health, and/or community/ambulatory settings; develop and/or update course content and materials; use teaching strategies to meet the college's diverse students learning needs; submit annual self-assessment; mentor and assist students; complete grades on a timely basis; attend faculty meetings and other duties that the supervisor assigns. Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of three (3) years of full-time nursing experience in the area of teaching responsibility. [For teaching BS Programs]
If a bachelor's degree in nursing is the highest degree obtained from an accredited college or university, at least three (3) years of nursing experience in their area(s) of teaching responsibility. [Hawaii Administrative Rules, Ch 16-89] Current unrestricted RN License to practice in Hawai’i (APRN License is required for position(s) supervising nurse practitioner students); Engaged in professional practice on a unit with a similar patient population and level of patient acuity to the unit where they will be assigned for the purpose of supervising nursing students; Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and to direct group discussion; Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to nursing students. Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience with higher education nursing curriculum. Previous teaching experience with undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students including didactic and clinical courses. To Apply:
