Breakthrough Public Schools is a nationally recognized Charter Management Organization (CMO) network in Ohio. Our mission is to provide Cleveland area scholars with an education that empowers them to lead lives full of impact and opportunity. Our network of schools centers joy, curiosity, and individual growth, uniquely positioning Breakthrough Public Schools to cultivate a learning community where all students thrive. At Breakthrough, we are committed to providing scholars with the academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to excel at learning and citizenship from kindergarten through eighth grade promotion. We are committed to the success of every child. The CMO network manages core administrative responsibilities, including human resources, finance, information technology, facilities, student recruitment, and marketing for our schools. We serve 3,000 K-8 grade scholars across ten schools and employ over 450 staff members. Opportunity
Deans of culture are administrators whose priority is supporting the campus with student culture and data reporting. They are an integral part of the school leadership team run by the campus principal. Responsibilities
Shape a vision for inclusive schoolwide and classroom culture that creates maximum learning and maximum belonging, allowing all scholars to feel safe, productive, and known. Be an active member of the school leadership team and school community; modeling the school and network values, mission, and vision; Build a strong rapport and communication with families to best support student achievement and social-emotional needs; Facilitate proactive and reflective meetings with students/teachers/families to problem-solve behavioral concerns whenever necessary Manage a process that prioritizes personal reflection, PBIS practices, & restorative practice to maximize learning time and maintain a safe learning environment when students step outside the code of conduct Implement behavioral consequences that align with the code of conduct, state law, and our beliefs about restorative practices Properly log, track, and analyze student discipline data Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred Experience : Three years of teaching experience required; urban education experience preferred; Two years of leadership experience required; urban education experience preferred Experience coaching instructional staff through modeling and support preferred Licensure And Certification : Valid Ohio teaching license or in the process of obtaining a valid Ohio teaching license which can include a 1 or 5 year substitute license required. Valid Ohio Principal Licensure preferred, inclusive of non-traditional Licensure Pathways Technical Skills And Knowledge : Evidence of strong student achievement in previous teaching experiences Excellent communication skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Extremely high standards for student achievement Ability to work well in a team Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships Ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the mission and values of the school Curriculum Coach/Leader, administrative or leadership experience in a school setting preferred Breakthrough Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer, we hire without consideration to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
