This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Duties
Conduct physical security checks of buildings or facilities during an assigned shift. Protect a crime scene and turn over information gathered at the scene of an incident to detectives or investigators. Compile evidence in accordance with mandated procedures. Conduct investigative stops on violators of traffic laws. Control access to secure areas by determining which vehicles or personnel have credentials for entry. Requirements
Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Visit e-verify.gov for more information. Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must meet the time-in-grade requirement of at least one year at the next lower grade level by the closing date of this announcement. Individuals with convictions of a domestic violence crime after 27 November 2002 are ineligible. Submit DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms, before appointment. Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license. Pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing. This position is Key/Emergency-Essential and requires support for combat operations or systems. Must sign DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition, due to Gun Control Act regulations. Retired military members' appointment within 180 days of retirement is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must register for Selective Service. This is a bargaining unit position. Obtain and maintain security clearance prior to duty. Failure to do so may result in withdrawal of the job offer. Meet qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm; maintain firearm proficiency. Wear personal protective equipment during work shifts. This position may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites, including remote locations, and extended travel on military and commercial aircraft. Qualifications
To qualify, your resume must demonstrate sufficient experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the duties. Be clear and specific in describing your experience. For GS-06
At least one year of specialized experience at GS-05 or equivalent, demonstrating: Issuing citations for law enforcement violations. Investigating critical incidents such as traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, or child abuse/neglect. Interviewing witnesses. Inspecting vehicles for unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, or explosives. For GS-05
At least one year of specialized experience at GS-04 or equivalent, demonstrating: Apprehending personnel using force or police equipment. Preparing police reports. Responding to emergency calls while adhering to laws. Additional info:
