Oversee Pelham’s education department including hiring, supervising, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of related systems to support these tasks. Collaborate with Pelham’s Clinical, Nursing, Residential Department and Administrative team to provide a shared vision of supportive and enriching programmatic services and to maintain positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties. Provide leadership as a meeting chair, public school liaison, and among others. Requirements
Qualified candidates will have a Special Education Administrator certification or all of the following: M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration. At least 1 year of experience as a supervisor and administrator. At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities. Experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities. At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth. Background and driving record checks will be performed.
