The

Fire Sprinkler Technician 2

is responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role ensures systems are operational, compliant with safety standards, and capable of alerting occupants during fire emergencies. The technician collaborates with clients, building owners, and stakeholders to maintain system reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing:

Perform routine inspections and tests on fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, horns, and strobes.

Utilize testing equipment to verify system functionality.

Identify issues such as wiring faults or defective components and troubleshoot them.

Conduct visual inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Carry out preventive maintenance like cleaning, calibration, and adjustments.

Replace faulty components such as detectors, batteries, and wiring.

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.

Respond promptly to emergency repairs and troubleshoot system failures.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure systems meet all relevant fire safety regulations and standards.

Keep accurate documentation of inspections, tests, repairs, and upgrades.

Assist in preparing reports for authorities and stay updated on industry standards.

Client Interaction and Communication:

Communicate findings, recommendations, and system status effectively to clients and stakeholders.

Provide guidance and training on system use and maintenance.

Address inquiries and service requests professionally.

Team Collaboration:

Coordinate with team members for inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new systems.

Participate in ongoing training and industry best practices.

Tools/Software Applications:

MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Fire Alarm programming software, Bluebeam.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience.

Certifications:

NICET II in Water Based Systems Inspection & Testing or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.

Physical and Personal Requirements:

Lift at least 100 pounds, work at heights up to 60 feet, and perform physical activities like climbing and balancing.

Good vision, color perception, and communication skills.

Ability to recognize problems, apply rules, and see details at close range.

Work overtime, pass background and drug screenings, and maintain punctuality and safety.

Willing to work on projects anywhere and possess a valid driver's license with a clean record.
