Cloud Network Engineer Senior Location: Richmond, VA; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH; Atlanta, GA (preferred). This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Performs analysis and research of systems and networks; reviews detailed business and technical requirements to recommend technical solutions. Provide advanced engineering design functions and technical leadership to cross-functional teams to enhance network security and compliance and ensure project delivery. Design, implement, and optimize cloud network and DNS architectures across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Configure network and DNS components within different cloud environments to support application and service requirements. Create comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and compliance reports, to support auditing and regulatory reporting. Direct the construction of architecture components (data, application, and technical architectures). Set up and manage hybrid cloud connections (VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute) to integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments. Establish and manage multi-cloud connectivity for private connections between cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Develop scripts and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to streamline network provisioning and management. Contribute to enterprise architecture design and IT transformation strategy and vision. Assess compatibility and integration of solutions, mitigate risks, and propose opportunities to improve network performance, scalability, and reliability while maintaining security and compliance. Participate in enterprise planning activities, including vendor assessment, technology platform selection, retirement, prioritization, and integration. Act as a subject matter expert for executive management; champion architectural standards, guidelines, and reference models. Provide continuous improvement and stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to cloud networking. Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of 10 years in information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management; broad experience to plan and design highly complex systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, & Experiences
Experience mentoring others, leading large technical projects, and providing troubleshooting support. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, VPN, SDN). Strong understanding of cloud networking services and technologies (e.g., VPC, VPN Gateway, Direct Connect, Virtual Network Peering). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Experience working in an agile environment; relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking or equivalent. Experience with network security technologies and practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption). Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; occasional travel and on-call rotations may be required.
