Our classroom is the great outdoors; we are situated on a 4-acre nature reserve, with resident chickens and ducks, providing a unique, hands-on learning environment. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced educator who is passionate about outdoor education to join us in this exciting new chapter as our Preschool Lead. Position Summary

We are seeking a warm, experienced, and highly qualified Preschool Lead to create and guide a dynamic, outdoor, nature-based educational environment for our preschoolers. The Preschool Lead will be the heart of our preschool program, responsible for developing and implementing our emergent curriculum, fostering a safe and joyful outdoor classroom, and building strong partnerships with our families. This role is focused exclusively on the educational mission of the preschool program. Some early morning hours may overlap with our nursery program while children are arriving at both programs. Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction:

Develop, plan, and implement a dynamic, nature- and play-based curriculum that meets the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child, leveraging our 4-acre outdoor classroom and incorporating resident chickens and ducks. Classroom Environment:

Create and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing outdoor classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and respect for the natural world. Child Safety & Supervision:

Ensure the active supervision and safety of all children in the preschool program at all times, adhering to health, safety, and licensing standards specific to an outdoor program. Parent Communication:

Establish positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians through regular updates, conferences, and a welcoming, open-door policy. Observation & Assessment:

Maintain accurate records of student observations and progress reports to guide curriculum development and support individual learning. Qualifications & Skills

Professional Level:

We are seeking a candidate with a professional background equivalent to the Master Teacher permit level. Education:

An Associate's (AA) Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's (BA) Degree in ECE or a related field is highly desirable. A strong foundation of ECE units is required. Experience:

A minimum of two years (approx. 350 days) of teaching experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting. Experience and a demonstrated passion for outdoor, nature-based education is strongly preferred. Knowledge:

Deep understanding of play-based and nature-based learning theories and child development principles. Skills:

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. A nurturing, patient, and positive demeanor. Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Requirements:

Must pass a background check, be CPR/First Aid certified, and meet all other state licensing requirements. Compensation & Schedule

Hourly Rate:

$24.00 - $33.00 per hour. The pay rate is commensurate with experience and education. The higher end of the range is reserved for candidates with qualifications equivalent to the Master Teacher permit level (e.g., a BA in ECE and extensive experience). Schedule:
