ELAR Digital Curriculum Specialist (Remote)
TERM:
This is a full-time grant-funded position with an expected term through June 30, 2027. Continuation beyond this date is contingent on future funding. HIRING LEVEL:
This role may be hired at the Specialist or Senior Specialist level, depending on experience. About Us CollegeSpring is the only national nonprofit providing teacher-led test prep during the school day, helping students impacted by poverty unlock greater options after high school. For 16 years, we’ve partnered with school districts and organizations across the country to help more than 50,000 primarily first generation, economically disadvantaged, BIPOC students unlock opportunity through increased scores on gateway tests like the SAT, ACT, and TSIA2 (Texas Success Initiative Assessment). Today, we continue to expand by maximizing impact through larger district and nonprofit partnerships and harnessing the power of technology to better serve teachers and students. About The Role The ELAR Curriculum Specialist is responsible for developing high-quality, standards-aligned test preparation materials for high school students (grades 9-12) that are engaging for students and designed to support teachers in facilitating effective instruction. This role requires expertise in English Language Arts instruction, curriculum development, and familiarity with standardized test frameworks and state academic standards. What You’ll Do Curriculum Development & Design:
Create engaging, standards-aligned test preparation materials that are instructionally sound, visually engaging, and easy for teachers to implement. Quality Assurance (QA) & Iteration:
Ensure all curriculum materials meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and usability through a structured quality assurance process. Assessment & Standards Alignment:
Develop and refine high-quality test prep materials that align with both state academic standards and standardized test blueprints. Required QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field 3+ years of experience in ELAR instruction, curriculum development, or test preparation (SAT, ACT, TSIA2, or similar) Expertise in reading comprehension, rhetorical analysis, grammar, and writing instruction Experience aligning curriculum to state academic standards and test blueprints Strong instructional and graphic design skills to create engaging, visually appealing materials Strong editing and proofreading skills with high attention to detail Ability to track deadlines, manage projects, and meet production goals Proficiency in Google tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets) and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Comfortable adapting to new digital tools and publishing systems Preferred Experience designing test prep materials for multiple exams (ACT, SAT, TSIA2, AP Language & Composition) Familiarity with reading intervention and differentiation strategies Experience developing instructional videos or interactive learning experiences Experience working with AI-driven productivity tools, adaptive learning technologies, and/or digital assessment tools Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards for educational content Experience working in secondary education (grades 9-12) Background in culturally responsive teaching and literacy instruction MORE DETAILS This role is remote within the United States. Travel up to 10% of the time may be required. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $82,000, with final offer dependent on qualifications and internal equity.
