Overview
UC San Diego Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support leadership and operations in our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This role works closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for cardiovascular patients. Responsibilities
Supervise staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assist in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery and serve as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assist with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. Promote an environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Be accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consult and collaborate with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serve as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. Three (3+) or more years of experience working as an Operating Room RN. Two (2+) or more years of cardiovascular OR RN experience. Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services. Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills. Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and team members and contribute to organizational and departmental goals. Effective communication skills with the ability to build collaboration, teamwork, and a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Preferred Qualifications
MSN or Master’s degree in an affiliated healthcare discipline. CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR). Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM). Charge or supervisory RN experience. Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay and Schedule
