Help build intuitive mapping and analysis experiences used worldwide. As a Product Engineer, you’ll partner with design and engineering to shape features, validate quality, and produce clear guidance for users. This role may focus on desktop or web GIS applications based on team needs and your strengths. Responsibilities
Translate customer needs and standards into clear requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria Design and execute test plans (manual + automated); validate fixes and prevent regressions Build lightweight prototypes/samples (e.g., Vite/React or C#/.NET) to explore UX and verify functionality Investigate, reproduce, and document issues across supported environment; drive resolution with engineers Create user-facing content—tutorials, samples, release notes, and help docs Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross-team coordination across the ArcGIS platform Support releases with scenario validation, performance checks, and usability reviews Ability to produce polished samples, tutorials, and small tools that showcase workflow Requirements
1+ year of demonstrated experience with one of the following: Web: JavaScript/TypeScript with React (or similar), REST APIs, Node.js, and modern build tooling Desktop/3D: C#/.NET (or C++) with experience or interest in 3D/graphics (Unity, rendering basics) Foundation in GIS concepts (layers, features, symbology, coordinate systems) and data workflows Experience with Git-based workflows; comfortable writing clear bug reports, test cases, and user guidance Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Bachelor’s in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, Geography, or related field Recommended Qualifications
Master’s in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, Geography, or related field Experience building web apps (React/Vite/Node) or native/3D apps (Unity/C#) Experience creating low/medium-fidelity UX artifacts like wireframes, clickable prototypes, and design specs in Figma or Adobe XD/Creative Cloud to validate flows alongside engineering prototypes Familiarity with ArcGIS (Online/Enterprise/Maps SDKs) or similar geospatial platforms and APIs Understanding of test automation (including Playwright/Cypress for web or unit/integration frameworks for desktop) Knowledge of common geospatial/3D formats and services (GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, OGC, scene/mesh) Understanding of performance optimization strategies (including profiling techniques, fundamental networking principles, or considerations for GPU/CPU architecture) Ability to effectively communicate in English and Mandarin Total Rewards
