Role overview: The Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) technology team is looking for a Principal Full Stack Engineer to collaborate and deliver high-quality, scalable systems. You will serve as a Technical Lead working closely with the Tech Lead, Product Owners, and Architects to define and implement technical strategies and design solutions. You will be responsible for designing and building high-quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and standard development processes. This includes collaborating with architects to solve complex business challenges and contributing to design strategies and development efforts to ensure quality outcomes. You will translate divisional initiatives into effective software solutions by developing sophisticated or multi-component applications and evaluating alternative approaches. Additionally, you will analyze and recommend improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies, providing valuable insights to both technical experts and management. Responsibilities
Design and build high-quality solutions aligned with the technology blueprint and development processes. Collaborate with architects to solve complex business challenges and contribute to design strategies and development efforts. Translate divisional initiatives into effective software solutions by developing sophisticated or multi-component applications and evaluating alternative approaches. Analyze and recommend improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members. Coordinate technical deliverables across internal and external teams. Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and manage system resiliency and service processes. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance team velocity and agile delivery. Ensure code quality through reviews, unit testing, and integration testing. Engage with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to align on technical strategies. Qualifications and Expertise
Over 10 years of experience including Java-based and messaging-driven applications, with expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, API design, and multi-layered Java/J2EE architectures Experience in the financial services industry, preferably Asset Management Technology with exposure to Alternative Investing (Derivatives, Liquid Alts, Private Equity) Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and container technologies including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes Skilled in CI/CD tools and practices such as GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, and Stash Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and ORM frameworks like JPA and Hibernate Proficient in designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices Experience in database schema design, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and transactional SQL in DB2/Oracle Deep knowledge of Git and branching strategies Adept at resolving complex technical roadblocks across multiple technologies Commitment to code quality through effective code reviews and comprehensive testing Experience coordinating technical deliverables across internal and external teams Contributor to process improvement initiatives to enhance team velocity Highly productive in agile project delivery environments Collaborative with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, analyze code quality with Sonar, and manage resiliency and service processes Experience in project and people management is a strong plus BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience Team and Role Context
