Cyber Security Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Overview LCS Defense is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Engineer to support critical cryptographic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in COMSEC management and demonstrate the ability to develop and implement robust key management solutions. This position is based in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Key Responsibilities: • Work on a small team of cyber engineers to perform security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigations. • Conduct vulnerability assessments on web applications, networked devices, standalone software, and other technologies using the penetration testing lifecycle. • Maintain testing efficacy by adopting new testing tools and techniques. • Conduct research to explore current and emerging technologies. • Travel up to 10% of the time. Qualifications: • Active DoD Secret Clearance • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance • All work performed onsite at APG, MD; telework not available. • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent) • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or equivalent certification • Minimum of 5+ years experience with offensive security/penetration testing tools and methodologies • Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows internals • Understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software • Ability to analyze network traffic with tools like Wireshark and Burp Suite • Familiarity with hypervisor virtualization (VMware, VirtualBox, ESXi) • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to work in a secure SCIF environment Desired Skills: • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance • Basic cryptography knowledge • Programming/scripting experience (Python, Java, C/C++, Bash) • Code analysis and reverse engineering skills • Hardware hacking knowledge (chip-off, fault-injection) • Familiarity with COTS/GOTS radios, SDRs, RF concepts Why Join Us? • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and career growth opportunities. • Engage in cutting-edge prototyping and advanced technologies.
