Senior Project Manager – Transportation (Rail) – New York City Metro Area

Mott MacDonald is looking for professionals to join our Transportation team here in the New York City Metro Area. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with experience in the New York City Metro Area for rail transportation (NYCT, MNR, LIRR, PATH, Amtrak, NJ Transit) and the infrastructure industry. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the construction industry in the New York City Metro Area and experience working on public agency projects. Responsibilities

Supervise a team primarily composed of a resident engineer, office engineer and inspection staff for rail infrastructure and transit projects in the New York City Metro Area. Apply a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines during construction, and the methods and techniques to be utilized. Become thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of the project. Oversee field administration, procurement, and field engineering in addition to construction supervision. Provide and present constructability reviews to the client and direct the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities, including planning for work under outages and railroad flagger protection. Determine and review budget estimates and staffing requirements; manage the assignment of workforce, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budget goals. Understand project risks and take preventative actions to ensure milestones are met for each phase. Prepare and/or review cost and risk analyses and extra work claims for the client. Act as primary client liaison and maintain strong client relationships. Ensure Construction Contractor compliance with standard safety and quality assurance requirements of the client. Candidate Specification

A Bachelor's Degree or other appropriate degree required. Previous Construction Management and/or Resident Engineering experience with public transportation agencies. Experience with rail infrastructure projects. Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in infrastructure and/or transit industry managing rail or transit projects. Willing to work weekends and extended hours as necessary to properly oversee the project, if required. Professional Engineering License in New York State. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Pre-employment and ongoing random drug testing is required. Equal Opportunity and Benefits
