BT-143 – Data Scientist Location: Chantilly (fully on-site, no remote option) Period of Performance (POP): 1 year Note: This role requires a poly clearance to apply. Those without a poly clearance will not be considered. Responsibilities

Help transition the office to new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to modernize current collection processes. Train machine learning models and support the productization and development of AI-based systems for use as part of collection mechanisms. Train ML models in multiple ways to meet various functions, including but not limited to: Synthesis of code for automated web scrapes Automation of web scrape-related functions, including detection and self-healing of scrapes Automated visual detection of object types (e.g., vehicles, license plates) within video data Automated review and analysis of terms of service of companies Automating open-source data collection to train AI/ML systems Provide model training based on data that may be acquired from other components. Create complete AI-based systems, potentially including multiple inputs, models, human-review processes, ETL processes and databases. Productize and develop AI-based systems for use in collection mechanisms and provide support to operational elements, including breakfix work and software updates. Research AI/ML technologies in open source to ensure cutting-edge capabilities are leveraged. Collaborate with other organizational elements and communities engaged in AI efforts. Frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize and solve data problems. Develop and support scalable and secure functionality in software applications, focusing on integrating AI algorithms into IT project deliverables. Understand business objectives and develop models that help achieve them, with metrics to track progress. Derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to research questions. Analyze AI/ML technology trends and their strategic implications. Perform independent technical research in relevant areas (robotics, autonomy, software, engineering, data analysis). Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand and assess business requirements and define AI solutions aligned with architectural framework and business needs. Familiarity with Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling, Statistical Analysis and Hypothesis Testing. Develop systems to look for specific conditions and respond based on identified factors. Required Skills

Ability to understand and automate client workflows and business processes with AI solutions Experience with data structures, data modeling, and software architecture In-depth experience with machine learning tools/frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) Strong math and computer science foundation (probability, statistics, algorithms) Experience with AI/ML programming languages (Python, Java, C++, Conda, etc.) Experience training AI models and integrating pre-trained models into dataflows and software architectures Desired Skills

Experience implementing secure AI solutions Experience working with highly sensitive datasets Experience leading AI/ML initiatives Experience implementing ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) pipelines Experience implementing solutions in Amazon Web Services Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Collaborative team experience Seniorities
