We are seeking a Senior Principal UX Engineer - Researcher/Designer (T04) to join our team. In this role, you will: Contribute to the design and research of human-centered systems, applying UX methods to features, workflows, and system modules to ensure usability, consistency, and mission effectiveness. Plan and execute user research activities, create prototypes and wireframes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and efficient solutions. Work independently and as part of a UX team, contribute to style guide compliance, usability studies, and agile development processes. Perform UX research and/or UX design independently or in combination, depending on program needs; plan and execute user studies, develop wireframes/prototypes, and apply human factors principles to systems design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support agile development and ensure compliance with style guides, delivering user-centered solutions that enhance mission outcomes. Translate user needs into actionable design deliverables with a strong grounding in human factors/UX methodologies. This position can be located in Redondo Beach, CA, Aurora CO, or Colorado Springs, CO. Basic Qualifications

8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD Active Secret clearance required at the time of application Expertise with user-centered design (UCD) principles, research methodologies, and usability testing Experience coordinating and leading UCD efforts, including research, usability testing, and facilitating user feedback sessions Ability to plan and lead user engagement activities and align user needs with project objectives Strong portfolio showcasing UCD solutions for web applications Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive design solutions Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Axure, Lunacy, Adobe Suite, Lucid, Figma) Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams Experience designing in an agile software development environment Experience with Human Factors analyses (e.g., Task Analyses, Predictive Workload Analyses, Usability studies, Workload and Situational Awareness surveys) Experience building and maintaining a style guide and design system Experience with visual design (typography, symbology, layout) and UX/UI development methods (personas, heuristic evaluations) Ability to travel ~10% of the time for user engagement visits or usability testing Preferred Qualifications

STEM degree Familiarity with MIL-STD-1472 (DoD Design Criteria for Human Engineering) Experience designing applications for military users Masters-level proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Lucid) Familiarity with Systems Engineering Familiarity with software development languages Primary Level Salary Range:

$124,900.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary range is a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply depending on position. Some roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company holidays, and PTO.
