SUMMARY : Perform a variety of Accounts Payable duties under the direct supervision of the Accounts Payable
Manager. Some of these duties include processing A/P trade invoices through the matching and recording process for both Foreign and Domestic Invoices, analyzing pricing and invoice discrepancies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned. Match cost of items ordered and quantity against valid purchase order and receiving ticket. Process invoices in Great Plains Accounting software. Process and clear purchase orders in JDA software. Reconcile vendor statements in accordance with established procedures. Resolve discrepancies between receipts, invoices, and purchase orders. Research problem invoices, looking for previous payment, duplicate shipment, non-receipt by location or Great Plains error. Code and audit invoices. Work closely with Purchasing team regarding solving the price or other issues on invoices. Maintain vendor contact regarding billing, shipping and delivery dates. Assist Accounts Payable Specialists to become more familiar in other duties and for cross training purposes. Manage email inbox for invoices sent electronically. Assist Accounts Payable department with additional tasks as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2+ years in Accounts Payable Experience in a corporate environment, An accounting degree is preferred. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast paced environment. Handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner. High standards for accuracy and precision Self driven and motivated, Excellent oral and written communication. Ability to be a team member. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be well organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent telephone communication skills. Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. Must be even-tempered and team spirited - a good sense of humor is desirable. Must have the ability to effectively use a 10-Key adding machine. Must have the ability to type at least 30 wpm. Must have the ability to quickly learn specific software. Working knowledge of efficient filing systems, office machines and equipment. Must be able to adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. Must be able to make sound independent decisions based on available data. Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in an effective manner. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
