In this position, the employee will be responsible for the quality of the products provided by the supplier. Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Additionally, this position will be telecommuter for Texas and surrounding states. A full benefits package is available for Northrop Grumman employees. Basic Qualifications
Principal Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree and 3+ years, or PhD with 1 year experience. Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree and 6+ years, or PhD with 4 years experience. Experience developing, planning, and/or implementing quality methods and strategies. Experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, work teams, and/or management. Manufacturing/engineering experience. Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 auditing requirements. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues at the supply base. Extensive experience working with aerospace/defense industry suppliers onsite. General experience with special processes. Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action. Six Sigma or Lean certifications. Active Secret Clearance. Salary & Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00 The above salary range is a general guideline; base salary offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses where applicable.
