Our work depends on you, as Advanced Information Security Analyst, joining the Navy and Marine Corps Sector to be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled individuals to provide solution engineering, server administration, configuration management (CM), infrastructure, applications development/operations support, and cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA) support for Tactical and Remote Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) Edge Systems (TARCES) projects.

As an Advanced Information Security Analyst, Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Work Role Identification 631, you will Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.

In this role, a typical day may include:

Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation

Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event details and summary information

Evaluates firewall change requests and assesses organizational risk

Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications, and operating systems

Assists with implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls

Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans

Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise antivirus systems and software deployment tools

Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure

Researches, evaluates, tests, and implements new security software or devices

Conducts investigations of information systems security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management

Implements, enforces, communicates, and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and information systems security education/awareness programs

Performs periodic and ondemand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance

Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information

Provides information assurance project management, technical security staff oversight, and development of missioncritical technical documents

Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws

Develop materials for computer security education/awareness programs

Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports

May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals

May serve as a team or task lead

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Possess and maintain a DoW Top Secret (TS) clearance with Special

Compartmentalized Information (SCI) eligibility

Ability to obtain a Department of War Common Access Card

Travel 10-25%

Extensive knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques

Familiarity with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures

Understanding of firewall theory and configuration

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Seven (7) years or more experience performing related work

The likely salary range for this position is $108,979 - $147,443. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
