Draft and negotiate various general and sophisticated commercial agreements (with a concentration in the Americas for commercial sales agreements). Advise on and manage all other commercial legal matters that may arise in various areas of law, such as antitrust, labor & employment, bankruptcy, clinical and data privacy matters. Manage litigation and government investigations with the support of local/external counsel. Actively contribute to the creation and implementation of Legal Department processes and policies. Represent the Legal function in various leadership meetings and actively contribute to the development and good business conduct of SCIEX Americas commercial business. Manage a team of at least one junior legal team member. The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
At least 7+ years of practice as a US licensed attorney within a nationally recognized law firm and in-house, preferably within the life sciences industry. Global experience is a plus. Excellent academic credentials and a qualified lawyer (Bar member) in the US. Experience with managing other lawyers and/or paralegals. Excellent leadership qualities, including strategic thinking capability, attention to mentoring and development of other team members, and care and thoughtfulness about team building. Substantial deal and negotiation experience with a track record of leadership in executed transactions (e.g., partnership, collaboration, licensing, M&A, research agreements). The successful candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude, the ability to work with others, and a desire to learn. The candidate must be a team player with a "can do" attitude who can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects. Energetic, outgoing, self-motivated and constructive in approach; flexible and adaptable to work in a complex, global environment cross-functionally and able to build relationships. Ability to travel globally as needed, up to 20% of the time. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
