Overview
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting mental and physical health care? Blue Lotus Wellness is a growing integrative mental health group practice in Manchester, NH, seeking a Full-time Billing Specialist/Intake Coordinator (32-40hrs) to join our team. This is an in-office position that plays a vital role in keeping our practice running smoothly by managing the full revenue cycle and supporting clients with a welcoming first point of contact.
Responsibilities
Billing & Revenue Cycle Management (Primary Focus)
– Manage all billing functions within
TherapyNotes EMR , including accurate claim submission utilizing proper CPT and ICD-10 coding for both medical and behavioral health guidelines, payment posting, and reconciliation; research and follow up on disputed/incorrect reimbursement from health insurance; track and resolve claim denials/appeals, monitor insurance authorizations, and verify benefits; respond to client/guarantor inquiries regarding outstanding balances; establish payment plans; generate patient invoices, collect daily copays, work with collections, and manage outstanding balances with compassion and professionalism; collect weekly cash collections from other staff; manage medical records requests; maintain accounts receivable reports and provide weekly billing reports to leadership; ensure compliance with insurance, HIPAA, and industry standards; work with the off-site bookkeeper and CPA as needed; working knowledge of federal/state fraud and abuse laws; demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-9, and HCPC coding.
Administrative & Intake Support
– Answer client inquiries regarding billing and insurance; assist with client intake coordination: send intake documentation, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, gather documentation, and set up client accounts; provide general administrative support to the practice, including greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling, and communicating with clinical staff as needed; collect client copays daily; participate in weekly team staff meetings; contribute to process improvements to keep systems efficient and client-friendly; knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements; perform any other administrative tasks requested.
Qualifications
3+ years of medical/behavioral health billing experience (required)
Experience with TherapyNotes EMR strongly preferred
Knowledge of insurance claim processes, reimbursement, and A/R collections, appeals processes, and insurance credentialing
Excellent organizational skills, ability to problem solve, multitask, and manage competing tasks while attending to details and adhering to deadlines
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills required to interact with internal and external customers in a client-centered manner
Strong computer skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Ability to acquire and effectively execute new skills as needed according to evolving department needs
Medical billing certification is a plus
Compensation $22 - $25 hourly
