We are engaged on a VP OR SVP of Human Resources opportunity with a national PE backed construction organization. They are growing through M&A and seeking a strategic HR leader who can bring best practices around recruiting, organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and operations/compliance. This role requires candidates to be onsite fulltime in Nashville TN, relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate. Additionally, candidates based in Dallas, TX OR Austin, TX will be considered. Compensation - 240-275k Base + Bonus + additional incentives Headcount - 1200+ across 10 states Reports to CEO with dotted line to CFO Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance: Build and oversee scalable HR operations, systems, and processes to support a growing, multistate workforce. HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions. HR Operations & Compliance: Manage employee relations, workplace investigations, and risk mitigation in partnership with legal and leadership. HR Operations & Compliance: Lead benefits, payroll, and compensation administration to ensure compliance, competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness. Organizational Design & Workforce Planning: Partner with the executive team to design and evolve the organizational structure to support business expansion. Organizational Design & Workforce Planning: Implement workforce planning and modeling to ensure the right talent is in place to support business expansion. Organizational Design & Workforce Planning: Align HR practices with M&A/integration activity as the company pursues strategic growth initiatives. Talent Management & Development: Lead company-wide talent management initiatives, including succession planning, performance management, and leadership development. Talent Management & Development: Drive recruitment strategy for critical leadership and functional roles, partnering closely with hiring managers. Talent Management & Development: Build programs for employee engagement, retention, and career development that foster a high-performance culture. Strategic Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and PE partners on people strategy and organizational priorities. Strategic Leadership: Establish and monitor HR KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to measure effectiveness. Strategic Leadership: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization. Strategic Leadership: Lead cultural integration, change management, and communication efforts during periods of rapid growth or transformation. Building High-Performing HR Teams: Develop, mentor, and lead a best-in-class HR organization across HR Operations, Recruiting, and Talent Management. Building High-Performing HR Teams: Establish clear goals, accountabilities, and success metrics for HR team members, ensuring alignment to business strategy. 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in 2000+ person organizations. Experience working in construction, civil engineering, real estate, property management, environmental services, or similar highly desired. Bachelor’s degree required, SHRM, PHR, or similar certifications preferred. Prior experience in a private equity–backed, high-growth, or transformation environment strongly preferred. Expertise in HR operations, compliance, and multistate employment practices. Strong background in organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management. Proven ability to scale HR functions and teams in a dynamic business environment. Strong business acumen, with ability to align people strategy to financial and operational objectives.
