We are looking for an
Art Director
who understands that brand is not what we say—it’s what someone feels in their body when the box opens. Someone who can elevate a well-established identity into a visual and emotional world that customers want to live in. Someone who will take our existing brand and make it so consistent, so moving, and so intentional, it becomes inevitable. You’ll be one half of a dual leadership model: Art Director and Director of Performance Marketing. You’ll co-steer the brand with precision and intuition. You’ll also build and lead a creative team capable of producing at pace—without ever losing emotional precision. This role is not for the faint-hearted. The volume of creative output is high. The standards are higher. If you’ve been waiting for the place where your obsession with beauty, pace, emotion, and craft can finally be unleashed—you may have just found it. Key Responsibilities
Own the complete emotional arc of the customer journey: from first impression to final thank-you. Design human-first luxury experiences online and in-person. Develop tactile brand touchpoints that reward attention, ignite memory, and invite delight. Invent systems of unreasonable hospitality that deepen connection, surprise expectations, and earn lifelong loyalty. Creative Strategy & Concepting
Lead campaign ideation and brand-forward initiatives across every channel. Establish frameworks for storytelling that ladder up to brand emotion and business goals. Run internal rituals for idea generation and lateral thinking. Protect and evolve the brand identity through constant elevation. Asset Production & Workflow Ownership
Oversee all asset creation at high volume across platforms and formats. Direct photoshoots and video content production for digital and in-store. Build and manage sprint-based creative workflows with high visibility. Enforce timelines without sacrificing resonance. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Head of Growth and Marketing to ensure every asset balances soul and scale. Work with Customer Experience to craft emotionally intelligent service touchpoints. Interface with packaging, print, and ops to ensure creative ideas are materially executed. Team Leadership & Mentorship
Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of designers, copywriters, photographers, and stylists. Lead critique sessions that push creative from good to unforgettable. Create a culture of rigor, heart, and unshakable taste. About The Role
This is both a hands-on execution role and a high-level creative strategy position. You’ll architect systems, innovate and shape emotion, and produce an overwhelming volume of assets with consistency and grace. Your creative fingerprint will be everywhere—and we do mean everywhere. Expect To Touch
Surprise-and-delight moments. Unboxing experience: tissue wrap, ribbon tags, inner-box storytelling, sensory details. Gifting artifacts: note cards, candles, floral mists, box seals, scent sachets. In-store experience: brand scenting, signage, merchandising styling, vinyls, playlists, typography, lighting. Paid ad creative across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google. Email/SMS creative: headers, footers, illustrations, animation, segmentation nuance. Landing pages, homepage visuals, product page media stacks. Social media visual storytelling and coordination. Seasonal campaign development and execution. Brand photoshoots and editorial art direction. Franchisee marketing kits. Physical print assets: direct mail, postcards, gift booklets, zines. B2B experiences: partner decks, florist onboarding, internal brand culture materials. Popup experiences and brand activations. Product photography, prop styling, and mood setting. Uniform styling and print production. Packaging and shipping collateral. Welcome kits for franchisees, VIPs, and high-value clients. Internal celebrations and milestone moments. Brand tone and visual storytelling for investor and talent decks. Templates for performance creative testing. Who You Are
7-10 years of art director experience at DTC brands, creative studios, or agencies. Experience managing brands with elevated aesthetics and strong emotional resonance. Equally comfortable designing an Instagram ad and directing a full-day brand shoot. Uncompromising in taste; relentless in output. Deeply familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Asana/Notion, and visual testing. Obsessed with beauty that moves people. A believer in emotion-led design and human-first luxury. Capable of building scalable systems that support speed without sacrificing elegance. What Success Looks Like In 12 Months
Our visual identity becomes unmistakable and widely recognized. Ads and emails perform better because they’re more beautiful and emotionally attuned. Packaging becomes a talking point. Surprise-and-delight experiences earn loyalty and word-of-mouth. Creative team hums—producing, iterating, elevating constantly. Compensation & Details
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 / year, DOE. Remote (Los Angeles preferred for shoots and strategy sessions). Equity potential. Paid time off + professional development stipend. Unlimited access to flowers and moments that move you. To Apply:
Send your portfolio, resume, and a short note about the most emotionally impactful piece of creative you’ve ever made—or received. French Florist is an equal opportunity employer.
