Overview The VP, Total Rewards leads all the employee compensation and benefits functions for PCH including physician and executive compensation. The Vice President will be well-versed in the contemporary practices, as they develop and promote compensation and benefits philosophies, strategies, and policies while aligning all total reward systems and programs in support of the corporate mission, goals, and strategic objectives. Keeping abreast of market trends, this executive will proactively ensure PCH offers competitive and effective compensation and benefit plans that meet strategic organizational objectives. This executive will serve as subject matter expert to ensure fair and equitable pay and create sustainable and competitive total rewards strategies. The Vice President, Total Rewards reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and will work closely with members of the senior leadership team, board of directors, and compensation committee. This leader is a trusted partner and advisor within the HR function and to the business. We are looking for someone with extensive and lengthy experience in healthcare compensation. Someone who can develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy aligned with the organization's goals and values. This includes designing competitive salary structures, incentive programs, and benefits packages. This person will be responsible for staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices in healthcare compensation and benefits. This leader will be able to demonstrate the ability to facilitate the transition of the organization from a standalone hospital to a health system, ensuring that compensation practices are scalable and adaptable to the evolving needs of the organization. They will need to demonstrate financial intelligence in managing compensation budgets effectively while balancing the need for competitiveness and fairness. This person must work well under pressure and have a strong comfort level for deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Vice President of Total Rewards will develop, evolve, and align PCH’s total rewards strategy to the goals of the organization to ensure it drives business results, enables hiring and retention, and ensures an exceptional employee experience.

Stay abreast of emerging trends and proactively drive strategic compensation and benefits decisions and deliver creative, competitive, and analytically driven compensation programs for all levels of the organization.

Create the business case for plans and programs that are aligned with the corporate strategies; communicate PCH’s compensation and total rewards strategy to stakeholders, including the board.

Provides strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of the PCHs Total Rewards program including health, welfare, wellness, retirement, base pay, incentives and other rewards and perquisites.

Analyzes current rewards programs to ensure they align with the business strategy and optimize the ability to attract and retain top talent.

Oversees the design and administration of compensation programs including all aspects of executive and physician compensation. Ensures all aspects of the program remain compliant with all relevant Federal and State laws and regulations.

Develops Total Rewards philosophy and supporting policies and practices that serve the overall best interests of the health system.

Ensure employees and leaders understand and value the total rewards offered by the organization and seek feedback to optimize these rewards to meet their needs.

Acts as Chair of the Retirement Investment Committee which oversees and reviews

the investments of the assets of the Section 401(k) and 457 plans sponsored by PCH and

the administration of the Plans.

May staff the Board of Directors Compensation committee and present to the Board as directed.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in business, human resources or related field

Required

Master’s degree in business or related field

Preferred

Industry certifications, such as SPHR, CCP, CEBS, CBP
